When Terry and Kristina met on Facebook Dating after Terry sent the first “like” in September 2024. Kristina was instantly intrigued by his “quiet till I know people” vibe—so different from what she was used to. After a few weeks of chatting (and a nudge from a coworker), they set a date, but an illness at Kristina’s house forced a rain check. With Brittany’s encouragement, Terry asked again—and she happily said yes. Their first date at Dave & Buster’s in Westlake started with Kristina calling Shannon as a “just-in-case” walk-in buddy, but the moment she saw Terry, the nerves vanished. They talked for hours, played games, and immediately planned date #2. Two weeks later they were back at Dave & Buster’s, sharing stories and big hopes. Terry soon met the Check family (and earned their approval), joined them for Thanksgiving, and Kristina knew he was the real deal when her godson Jackson climbed into Terry’s lap to play cars.

The next months were full of dates, endless texts, and holiday visits. Then life hit hard: Terry’s mom was hospitalized in Columbus and passed unexpectedly. Not being there with him was heartbreaking for Kristina. After weeks of grieving, work, and winter bugs, they finally met for Mexican in Cleveland—where Terry met Sophia. It was love at first sight (the ice cream probably helped). From then on, they’ve been inseparable.

The next few months were a whirlwind of visits, holidays, and trips to Columbus and Cleveland with family and friends. In July, Terry—who grew up in Arizona—planned a trip to bring his mom’s ashes to her final resting place and invited Kristina and Sophia to join. A week in Arizona as a family? Yes, please.

There, they laid Terry’s mom Veronique to rest, visited the Grand Canyon, and soaked in the Southwest heat visiting many of the places and things to do. However, few months earlier, Terry had already decided it was time to POP the question.  Sneaky Terry and Shannon organized how to get the ring size and what Krsitina would like…

So after a long day at the Canyon, in the quiet of their hotel room, he asked Kristina to marry him. She said yes.

After telling Sophia the news and presenting her with a BEAUTIFUL necklace, family and friends were then called and texted with the most amazing news.
